Teacher Transition Privacy Policy

Teacher Transition Privacy Policy

Effective and last updated: August 7, 2026

1. Who We Are

Teacher Transition is operated by Idealized Learning LLC (“Teacher Transition,” “we,” “us,” “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information across our website, our online courses and membership, and our Job Search Dashboard (together, the “Services”).

By using our Services you agree to the way we handle your information as described here. This policy is part of our Terms of Use.

Many of you are educators planning a career change, so we hold genuinely personal information about you. This policy tells you plainly what happens to it.

2. Where Your Information Is Stored

We are a United States business, and our Services are offered to people in the United States and Canada. Your information is stored and processed in the United States and in South Korea by the providers who host and support our Services.

We remain responsible for your information when our service providers handle it, and we require them by contract to protect it to a comparable standard.

Because your information is stored outside Canada, it may be accessible to courts, law enforcement, and government authorities in those countries under their laws.

3. What We Collect

Account and contact details. Your name, email address, phone number, and the information needed to manage your account.

Payment details. Handled by our payment processors. We do not store your full card number, and our Job Search Dashboard holds no card data at all.

Course activity. Assignments and other work you submit, and which parts of a course you have completed.

Job Search Dashboard profile. Your location, professional summary, links you provide, work history, education, certifications, projects, volunteer experience, languages, your teaching background, and your job preferences.

Uploaded resumes, including the file and the text taken from it.

Job activity. Jobs you save, jobs you track, their status, and any notes you write about them.

AI tool content. Your conversations with our AI assistant, files you attach, the resumes and cover letters it generates, notes the assistant keeps about you, and your credit usage.

Support messages you send us.

Usage information. Your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and which links and buttons you click. We use this to understand how the Services are used and improve them. We do not record your screen, replay your sessions, or capture what you type.

Email records. Which messages we sent you, whether they were delivered, and your unsubscribe status.

Sensitive information

Some of what you give us could be used to disadvantage you, so we name it rather than bury it: your work authorization and sponsorship status, your salary expectations, your resume, and your private notes about applications and interviews.

This information is protected by access controls that restrict every record to the account that owns it, and resume files are held in private storage. We never send any of it to employers, and we never sell it or share it for advertising. You apply on employers’ own sites yourself. Your work authorization status and your salary expectations are never sent to any AI provider.

Please do not type another person’s details, or medical or immigration specifics, into free-text fields. Whatever you write is stored as you wrote it.

What we do not collect

Government ID numbers, dates of birth, biometric data, or precise location. We do not ask about race, religion, health, or sexual orientation.

4. How We Use It

To run your account and sign you in, to deliver what you have purchased, to match jobs to you, to power the AI tools when you use them, to contact you about your account, to provide support, to improve the Services, to prevent fraud, and to meet our legal obligations. We also send occasional emails about courses and offers if you have agreed to receive them.

Your match scores and Career Fit Score are produced by our own formulas, not by AI, and are estimates rather than predictions.

5. AI Tools

When you use our AI tools we send the relevant parts of your information to third-party AI providers so they can generate a result. Depending on the tool, that includes your resume text or file, the job description you are targeting, your instructions, and your conversation history with the assistant.

Your conversations and generated documents are saved to your account, and you can delete them at any time from within the Job Search Dashboard.

Under our AI providers’ published terms, information sent through their business services is not used to train their models. AI output is informational only and is not professional career, legal, financial, or immigration advice.

6. Who We Share It With

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

We share what is necessary with the categories of providers who help us run our business:

  • Payment processors, for purchases and subscriptions
  • Our customer and membership platform, which handles enrolment, billing, and marketing email
  • Cloud hosting, database, and file storage providers
  • AI model providers, as described in Section 5
  • Our email delivery provider
  • Security and content delivery providers
  • Providers of website elements such as fonts and company logos, which receive your IP address when a page loads
  • Our job listing collection service, which receives no personal information

We also disclose information when you ask us to, when required by law, to protect someone’s rights or safety, and in a merger or sale of the business, where it would transfer under this same policy.

If you would like to know the specific companies we use, email us and we will tell you within 30 days.

Advertising. Some banners on our Services are paid placements, meaning the business featured pays us to appear there. They are marked as advertising. If you click one, that company may learn you came from us, and their privacy policy applies from that point. We do not send them any of your information.

7. Emails

Account emails such as sign-in links and purchase confirmations are how the Services work, and you cannot opt out of them while you have an account.

Job Search Dashboard emails about new matches, the weekly digest, and application reminders can be turned off using the unsubscribe link in any of them. Unsubscribing turns off all of these emails, not only the type you clicked from. It does not affect sign-in emails, so you can still access your account.

Marketing emails carry their own unsubscribe link. If you are in Canada, we send marketing email only with your consent, you can withdraw it at any time, and we action unsubscribe requests within 10 business days.

8. Cookies and Browser Storage

We use cookies and similar storage to keep you signed in, to remember your preferences, to protect against automated traffic, and to understand how our Services are used.

Our main website uses third-party analytics cookies. The Job Search Dashboard uses our own analytics only, with no advertising cookies and no third-party tracking cookies. Job Search Dashboard analytics begin when a page loads, before you sign in, and are linked to your account once you are signed in.

You can usually control cookies through your browser settings.

Do Not Track. Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no common industry standard for how to respond to these signals, so we do not currently respond to them. We do not allow third parties to collect personal information about your activity across other websites through our Services.

9. How Long We Keep It

We keep your personal information only as long as necessary to provide the Services, manage your account, meet our legal obligations, or resolve disputes.

Cancelling a paid plan moves you to a free tier. It does not delete your data, so everything is there if you return.

Two things we keep deliberately after an account closes: your email address on our do-not-contact list, so we never email someone who opted out, and payment records, which tax and accounting rules require us to retain.

10. Your Rights

Seeing your information. Most of what we hold is visible in your account and you can view and edit it there directly. If you would like a copy of anything not visible there, email us and we will provide it within 30 days.

Deletion. You can ask us to delete your account and personal information, and we will do so within 30 days. We retain payment records as described above, and your email address stays on our do-not-contact list.

Correction. You can edit most of your information yourself, and ask us to correct anything else.

Marketing. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Knowing who we share with. We will tell you the specific companies we use if you ask.

We will never reduce your service for exercising any of these rights.

To make any of these requests, email [email protected]. We will confirm you control the account’s email address first, and respond within 30 days.

If you are unhappy with how we handled your information, tell us at the same address with “Privacy Concern” in the subject line. Our Privacy Officer is responsible for compliance with this policy, will investigate, and will respond in writing within 30 days. If you are in Canada and remain unsatisfied, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

11. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including access controls that limit every record to the account that owns it, encryption in transit, private storage for resume files, and passwordless sign-in on the Job Search Dashboard so there is no password for anyone to steal. Access to our systems is limited to a small number of named administrators, who cannot read your resumes, AI conversations, or job tracker notes through any administrative screen.

No system is completely secure. If a breach occurs that poses a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected users without undue delay, and regulators where the law requires it.

12. Other Websites

Our Services link to other websites, including employer application pages. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.

13. Children

Our Services are for adults. You must be at least 18, and at least the age of legal majority where you live if that is higher. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will remove it.

14. Changes

We may update this policy. We will post changes here and update the date above. If a change is significant we will make reasonable efforts to tell you.

15. Contact

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, please contact us at [email protected].
