I recently accepted a position as Manager of Learning for a global company—and I'M STILL PINCHING MYSELF!
It’s a newly created, fully remote role.
I’ll be leading all internal training initiatives for over 200 employees across the globe.
I even negotiated a salary that’s nearly DOUBLE my teaching salary when I resigned this June—after 17 years in the classroom—and the benefits are AMAZING!
I was an elementary teacher for 7 years when I stumbled upon Teacher Transition...
The course helped me see just how transferable my teaching skills really were. It gave me the confidence to apply for roles I once thought I wasn’t qualified for.
I learned how to revamp my resume from teacher-style to corporate-ready, and I even built a portfolio—something I’d never done before.
Now, I’ve landed an Instructional Coach role with Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (HMH)! I still get to work in education, but now I support teachers with HMH curriculum and best instructional practices.
I found Teacher Transition through a post on Instagram during my 12th year of teaching. I was completely miserable... but had no idea what to do next.
So, I signed up for the course—and it opened my eyes to new possibilities. I finally saw how my skills as "just a teacher" were actually in high demand—and that companies are actively looking to hire teachers because of those strengths.
I suddenly had hope.
I was blown away by all the support!
Professional resume + cover letter templates, LinkedIn optimization videos, banner templates, job postings, live Zoom calls, coaching options, and more. Everything I needed to actually apply for—and land—my next job.
And I did.
I’m now the Director of Training and Development at a well-known company in my area.
No master’s. No doctorate. Just a bachelor’s degree.
Once I stopped thinking of myself as “just a teacher” and started seeing my strengths clearly—everything changed.
I’ll forever be grateful to the TT team. They helped me change my life.

"Best purchase ever!"
"It has been really great to see where teaching skills can overlap into the Edtech/corporate world. It is refreshing to know that many of these things the role does are things teachers already experience on the daily." - Kari P.
Nope. Our founder, Ali, for example, didn't have a degree in training, and you don't need one either. BUT there are things you DO need to land a job in these roles, and we'll go over those things in this course and provide you with the tools and resources you need for that.
Our team’s expertise comes from real-world experience in the field. Ali, who built this course, learned the trade in one of the best places possible: an instructional design agency. Her background as a teacher, combined with hands-on agency work, created a powerful combination that opened the door to leadership opportunities in training, consulting, and curriculum design.
She’s gone on to:
Guest lecture at the university level, teaching graduate students how to design curriculum and build instructional materials
Collaborate with university professors, who now request her resources to help their grad students succeed in landing roles in this field
Lead a learning production agency, where she’s hired and managed instructional designers, curriculum developers, and trainers
But it’s not just Ali.
Inside the course, you’ll also learn from mentors who are actively working in the field right now—including:
Corporate trainers
Educational consultants
Program managers
Hiring leads at education companies
They share what they’ve done, what they’ve learned, and what you need to know to land these roles as a former teacher.
So yes—this course was built by people who’ve lived it… and are still living it today.
No problem at all! This course will let you know what the field is like and everything you need to get a job in it. You can apply whenever you’d like! It will simply help you be confident and fully prepared to take that next step whenever you would like to! And PS what you will learn will help you be a better teacher in the classroom as well.
Great question—and one we hear a lot.
If you’re looking at a formal master’s degree in Training or a related field, there are two main routes people typically explore:
🔹 Online Option:
One of the most affordable and well-known programs is at WGU (Western Governors University). Most students finish in about four semesters, and tuition usually totals around $13,000.
It's theory-heavy, and you’ll learn things like learning models and assessments—but many of our students have come to us after graduating from WGU because they still didn’t know what instructional designers or trainers actually do in the real world.
(But hey, their theory game is strong 😉.)
🔹 On-Site Option:
Programs like Indiana University’s are highly respected—but also come with a big price tag. If you’re accepted and attend full-time, including tuition and living expenses, you’re likely looking at $100,000+ over the course of the program.
💡 Our honest take?
A degree can be valuable, especially if you're pursuing a very specific academic or research-based career path. But if your goal is to transition into training, consulting, or instructional roles in the real world, you don’t necessarily need another degree. You need experience, clarity, and practical tools to help you land the job.
That’s exactly what we focus on in the Become a Trainer & Educational Consultant program.
So instead of spending years and tens of thousands of dollars, we help you move forward faster—and with more support—so you can get to the actual goal: doing meaningful work you love.
All Teacher Transition courses come with a 7-day no-questions-asked policy. If you purchase a course and decide for any reason that it is not for you, simply email our team within 7 days at [email protected] for a refund. Please note that a $50 processing fee may be applied to cover the payment processor fee and process to refund your purchase. If you decide that you would prefer a different course than the one that you purchased, our team would love to support you with that. You are welcome to have your purchase transfer to another course within 7 days of purchase. There is no $50 processing fee associated with exchanging one course for another. Please note that the transfer of one course to the other can only be done one time and cannot be refunded afterward.
This varies depending on many things. Some course members have landed jobs in a month and a half after signing up. Others haven’t started applying until many months later. If you need a job sooner rather than later, I recommend a dual approach of taking the course while applying to jobs and adding the skills you gain through the course to your resume and portfolio as you learn them.
The cohort experience includes an online community and live sessions. The online cohort community is accessible 24/7 for 10 weeks to get your mentoring, support, and shared encouragement throughout the cohort. The live cohort sessions are 9 weeks long and held once per week to mentor you on course content and let you learn from and connect personally with guest speakers working in the field.
The cohort's online community and live sessions start the same week and the online community is accessible 1 week after the last live session to get you further support.
Spoiler Alert: For being part of the program, you will also be given free access to even more support, in case you may need or want additional support and career coaching after the cohort wraps up. We simply want to support you as best as possible for as long (or short!) of a timeframe as you want and need.
No deadlines, no pressure — you can complete the course at your own pace.
Whether you want to dive in and finish in a weekend or move through it slowly alongside your busy schedule, the course is designed to fit your life.
And the best part? You get lifetime access.
That means you can revisit the lessons, templates, updates, and bonuses anytime — even after you land your new role.
This course is about more than just learning a tool or software.
You’ll walk through the real-world process of creating training materials, the same process used at education companies and organizations hiring trainers and learning specialists.
Rather than focusing on one specific software, we expose you to the most relevant and in-demand tools companies actually use—so you can choose the one that best fits your goals and build hands-on experience with it.
You’ll learn:
What companies look for when hiring a Professional Learning Specialist or Trainer
How to create training resources that meet those expectations
How to showcase your work with confidence when applying
And how to position yourself for the type of role you want, at the type of company you want
This course was built to bridge the gap between teaching and training and give you the clarity, tools, and confidence to land your next role.
Absolutely not! We have course members who’ve never been classroom teachers, and they benefit from the course just as much as those with an education background.
Many work in fields like Human Resources, corporate training, or professional development—and they’ve successfully used this course to move into roles as trainers and learning specialists across a wide range of industries.
Our course enrollees have landed roles at:
Nonprofits
Large corporate and mechanical companies
Universities
Education companies
...and more!
You’ll explore the full spectrum of trainer and educational consultant opportunities, so you can confidently identify the type of role and organization that fits you.
Inside the course, you’ll:
Learn and experience the real-world process used to create training materials
Get exposed to the most important tools and platforms used in training roles
Receive customizable resume, cover letter, and portfolio templates to help you confidently apply and stand out
While some examples in the course relate to the education field (since many of our students come from that background), the training, tools, and strategies are relevant across industries.
We love welcoming course members from all backgrounds—because your unique experience adds value to this field.
You are 100% welcome here, and we can’t wait to support you on your journey.
Course members have been hired by corporate companies like Northwestern Mutual, education companies like Amplify and Defined Learning, nonprofits like Learning Ally, remote contract roles, and opportunities with organizations both within the U.S. and internationally—and the list keeps growing.
Yes, you’ll receive a professional development certificate upon completing the course.
In addition, you’ll earn digital badges as you complete each course module, which you can proudly share on LinkedIn.
Once you’ve finished the full course, you’ll also be eligible to receive graduate-level university credit—without having to pay full tuition. You’ll just cover a small processing fee (around $25), and you’ll be all set.
Inside the course, we provide step-by-step instructions to make sure you receive all certificates and credits without any confusion.
The cohort meets once a week for 1–2 hours to dive into that week’s topic. The schedule may vary slightly based on guest speaker availability, but you can generally expect sessions to be held weekly at 7 PM ET / 6 PM CT / 5 PM MT / 4 PM PT.
A full schedule will be provided once you join.
If you're unable to attend live, session replays will be available within 48 hours.
