How Did You Get Your Job?!
It was my very first on-site training I conducted as an educational consultant. As soon as the meeting had a break for people to get a drink and stretch for a bit, that first teacher eagerly came up to me and asked what so many other teachers have asked since then,
“HOW DID YOU GET THIS JOB?! I’d love to do something like this!”
Learn exactly how I did by clicking on the video interview below (or scroll down for the cliff notes version.)
What Jobs Led to What?
From Classroom Teacher to…
Educational Trainer
I first trained teachers on ed-tech.
Educational Consultant
I advised district leaders, administrators, instructional coaches and clients on the most effective learning strategies and resources.
Instructional Designer
After teaching at the university level, I became an instructional designer at an instructional design agency. There I created live and online learning resources for large companies and clients.
Project Manager
I led teams as they created learning materials for clients.
Independent Learning Strategist
I started my own company and advised clients (corporate and educational) on how to create the most effective learning materials and resources
Director
As clients’ needs grew, my company grew into an agency that I lead today. We have instructional designers, learning strategists, video creators, voice talent specialists, QA experts, tech teams, and more who create learning materials and resources for our happy clients.
Teacher Transition
Because I remember how hard it was to take my next steps beyond the classroom, I created Teacher Transition to help other teachers take those next steps comfortably and confidently!
