My Personal Path:

Hi, I’m Ali and I lead things here at Teacher Transition. If you’re like me, you have been in the classroom for a while and have started wondering what you might do next. I taught for 7 years and I absolutely loved it… for 5. 😉 At the end of the 5th year, I knew I needed to do something else, but I had no other plans AT ALL and no idea what I would do next.

What else am I qualified to do? Wouldn’t I miss teaching and the students and parents and my coworkers? But I’ve worked so many years toward retirement and wouldn’t I lose all of those if I quit? If questions like this have ever been on your mind, YOU’RE NOT ALONE. Through the process of it all, I felt like a trailblazer, as if I was forging a path no one else had taken before. Certainly, thousands of people go through this every year but I felt like I was doing this all alone and without a guide.

Knowing I needed to move forward but not knowing what specifically to do next, I taught the next two years while going about a process of researching the workforce, and identifying my personal strengths and interests, and then I landed not only a job, but directed my career path in a way that gives me continued growth, life flexibility, financial security and so much more. To say the least, I am so happy about where my path, which started in the classroom, has led to after teaching.

Everyone’s path is personal in where you’ve been with teaching and where you want to go with your future. but there is a process that can help you pace yourself and get to your next dream job with confidence and peace of mind.

The resources that Teacher Transition provides help teachers with that process to identify their strengths and interests, find work opportunities that align with those, and take the needed steps to make that next dream job become a reality.

If you’re considering your next step after teaching and would like to have a “guide by your side” to help with that process, that’s why I’m here. Having walked the transition path from the classroom to my next “dream job” I love celebrating the many strengths teachers have and helping them find the peace and personal fulfillment they have been searching for on their own professional path.

Let’s see and celebrate the great things your path has in store ahead for you!
