6 Top Jobs at Education Companies for Teachers

Are you ready to make the leap beyond the classroom, but still want to stay connected to the world of education? In this episode, I am diving into the details of of the top jobs at education companies for teachers. 

You’ll be encouraged to know you are already qualified for many of these. Plus, you have so many options to choose from! 

Jobs at Education Companies

Teachers love working at educational companies because they are still connected to teachers, administrators, and the world of education, just in a different way. Educational companies are made up of specialized departments. Let’s take a look at the most common ones. 

1 - Sales

What’s important to remember is that education companies have to make sales in order to be successful and serve their customers. So while sales may feel uncomfortable to you, I challenge you to think about it differently!

 If you were in sales, you would be connecting teachers with resources that are going to help them do their job even better. As a result, students always reap that benefit! You can feel really good about providing products that make an impact!

2 - Customer Success

Next,  if you love helping other people understand how to use tools effectively by walking people through steps, this is a great role for you. Education companies need their customers to use their resources in the classroom and feel confident doing so. 

When educational companies can get feedback, testimonials, and data about how these tools are used, they become more profitable. A customer success specialist is a huge piece of making those things possible. 

3 - Trainer or Implementation Specialist

This role is perfect for someone who actually loves teaching but could use a different setting to teach in. For examples, if you like equipping other teachers with strategies, materials, and resources to help them be more effective in their instruction, this is a great fit.

4 - Instructional Designer or Curriculum Specialist

Additionally, you could also be someone who really loves to be behind the scenes.  Instructional designers and curriculum specialists are responsible for creating, writing, and designing the look and layout of educational products.

5 - Project Management

It is so common for teachers to underestimate the work they are doing on a daily basis. For instance, teachers juggle writing lesson plans, managing behavior, jumping between multiple content areas, and connecting with parents and other teachers. But this is actually a superpower!

Project managers are needed in multiple departments of education companies, but especially in product development. They ensure that any project is completed on time within a certain budget. Teachers who thrive in this position are experts at reverse-engineering a goal and breaking it down into bite-size steps.

6 - Marketing

Lastly, if you are often told that you are a great communicator, you might be a great asset to a marketing department. These people are responsible for spreading the word about products and services offered through things like social media, advertisements, and email campaigns. 

The marketing department engages with customers in ways that help education companies understand what challenges their ideal clients are facing – and what they can do to meet the needs of those problems.
